As of late, I have found myslef rather frustrated with this idea that Science somehow disproves God. This debate mostly surrounds the literature of Genesis 1 & 2. Creation of the Universe & Life.

First, I would like to make it very clear that I believe God (Yaweh, Jah, Jahova...) created the Universe and all life.

Now, I do not believe that this was done in 7 literal days. This is where the aformentioned debate begins for those who see truth in science.

I am beginning to believe that Genesis creation is about the creation of prophecy as much as it is a statement that God is the creator.

I have done some research and have found some writing that supports this assessment. In considering many arguments (some strong as well as poor), I have found that the debate of biblical creation vs science has become more futile.

This is my first post on this forum and before I go into detail on these thoughts, I wanted to get a feel for the personalities of posters here.

So I ask, are you (anyone) willing to consider Gen 1 & 2 as stories of prophecy or are you determined that it is either about science or a literal 7-day creation?

I would like to discuss this.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." - Proverbs 1:7
