I remember when John first created this forum, it is funny that the posters at the time found the black holes and black holes II forums a place to discuss the kinds of isues found here.
I think it says alot about the "kind" of people found on this site, mostly open-minded, seekers.

From January 6th, 1998 by Admin:
: Hello everybody.
: The blackhole forum is receiving messages concerning god and science. I welcome these comments, but must say they are out of place.
: Thus, I made this forum so all of you can continue discussion of this riviting topic. It is not often I start a forum on a new topic, but this one seems important to many.
: Here are the rules:
: No profanity (remember, we have a young audience reading these pages)
: No personal attacks during point-counterpoint arguments.
: Include references if possible (Bible, papers, historical documents, etc.)
: Express yourself, but please do not condemn any person or group.
: Be Polite.
: This forum, as all on The Astronomy Net, updates automatically. However, you can consider this a moderated forum in that I will delete any message I feel does not belong. I will also delete very old messages that have little response.
: I do have my own thoughts on this forum topic, but I will be very fair and open minded before I hit the delete key. Really.
: So there you have it. I hope to read some interesting posts in the future.
: Sincerely,
: John : Your host.

And some comments:
:I hope to post here for a while, at least.
:for some odd unknown reason. Although seeing how the forums have changed over the years is interesting. Some people like Richard have been hear for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Others like me have only been here for a while and then there are others who pop in and then vanish into thin air. So yeah I might book mark this and add more and see if any body besides phillipmartin notices.
:I though I would take a little time and say thank you for creating and maintaining these forums, although you should place a warning label "Caution: these forums may become addictive or expand your mind."
Is this part of a business venture, revenue from advertisers or do you do it just for personal reasons? :)
:Thanks for this! |
