Squelch is kind of a level meter allowing you to hide posts shorter that the "squelch" level which is a progressively longer post length. This allows the viewer to see only posts at least a certain amount of actual meat. I like this as this eleminates mostly useless no text posts and possible short quips. The squelch level is always adjustable so nothing is permanent.

As for the reason you cannot see some posts, you may have well found a bug in my code. I will try to emulate your issue and see what I can find.
