is that dark matter does exist and that it is most likely composed of neutralinos that are quite heavy compared to the proton, hardly a candidate for a BEC medium. Several papers by Cahill from Australia and Moffatt from Canada claim that dark matter is just the fact (supposed) that Newtonian gravity, and therefore General Relativity, are based on spherical symmetry. But the physics community has ignored them.

However, recently Berenstein, a Professor at Harvard, has developed a new theory along the same lines that also indicates that dark matter is a figment of incorrect Newtonian gravity theory; and he is much too well respected to be ignored. His paper is in the Cornell archives and came out within the last few months. It was discussed extensively on the Physicsforums.com.

So dark matter may not exist, and even if it does, it is not likely to be a BEC.
