And some consequences:
If you water down every religion to its essence, it invariably claims that god is one, or reasonably close to one; or an opposite type which claims god is everything. A natural synthesis of all religions is then to point out the upper and lower bound of what religion says god is:
GOD IS ONE; GOD IS EVERYTHING
The layman might prefer to think of the upper bound as:
GOD IS IN EVERYTHING
One interpretation is:
GOD IS ONE WITH EVERYTHING
So in physics what is Everything? Mass and Energy. The universe is 2/3rds energy and 1/3rd mass. So to be a physicist and to believe in GOD, it would appear that we should worship, or at least pay homage to, mass and energy. But being physicists, we would naturally want to pay homage to the highest local concentration of GOD:
WORSHIP THE EARTH
This will bring the physicists and astronomers into consistency with the environmentalists and biologists, at least as politics is concerned.
That takes care of mass but leaves out energy. Now although energy is 2/3rds of the universe, its nearby density pales compared to the earth or virtually any massive object, like your car. Yet the astronomer in each of us wants this to be a cosmic religion. So we must worship the most nearby concentration of energy:
WORSHIP THE SUN
And it is also appropriate to worship the fire, our local energy source. Bone Fires are the norm for a representational form of worship, after candles. But if you ask me, the Earth has a spirit just because it is such a large local collection of Everything. But other less massive objects are worthy: your house and car, the live things you nurture, including your body, which provides you the digestion, locomotion, manipulation, vision and sexuality needed for survival of our species. Brains are needed for that as well.
