Einstein proposed an infinite universe with his cosmological constant. I see no way that his proposal is inconsistent with materialism even though he got its sign wrong.

Hoyle proposed a steady state universe that in also infinite in time. Later he modified vacuum creation to only regions of non-covariance, like Bojowald's singularity. Still all materialistic as far as I can see.

If anything I see finiteness as inconsistent with materialism as it implies something exists besides materials.
