I am sorry Michael but it is not coincidental at all. In fact, if you understood mathematics, I could show you that it is not possible to construct an internally consistent model of a random collection of data without including time dilation as an inherent phenomena.

I define time by a very simple statement: the past is what you know and the future is what you don't know. The present is "when" you are working with all you know.

You should be able to see that, under that definition, "time travel" is a meaningless concept.
