Why?

By the way: for clarity please be more specific:
why not replace "schizophrenia" with the list of forbidden behaviours these people are alleged to exhibit!

You will find in practice that people express their "problems with living" as "restrictions on their apparent freedom".

Some people may say that they "cannot help hearing voices and do not want to hear them".

If you encourage them to talke ownership and investigate they might find it is not a problem.

I once met someone who unknown to me was depressed. In talking casually to them I happened to mention the idea that people should be allowed to be depressed; they should not be forbidden it. Funny thing is he later told me he was depressed but this had gone. Seems like being allowed to be is a good thing...

A lot of those people "hearing voices" might be against it because society is against it?
