The electromagnetic field surrounding the earth only exist because of a vacuum that isn't a vacuum?
I think that the person stating that light needs mass to travel is relating light to water by a bad analogy which would be-- "There is no wave without the water." this is falacious.
Light is the "water" and the "wave".
I can stop light, its called a black sheet of paper.
I posted earlier that light and other electromagnetic phenominon are both at the same time-- a wave and a particle, it depends on the observer how this is perceived. Light and other electromagnetic phemeonon are their own substance upon which the wave travels. they are one and the same-- it again depends on the observer.
