I think it's natural to be angry at mentally ill people considering the cost to society and the burdens that they bring (billions and billions of dollars). Most of it, though, is bad child rearing. For example, perhaps Alan was raised by an autistic parent and he bears the marks of such a child rearing (or is partially autistic himself). I feel for mentally ill and mentally distaught people, but the best thing to do is avoid them. I wish there was an internet button that I could push that would help some world social institution identify them, and then they could be monitored and put in some social program or even an institution if need be. Our society simply lacks the resolve and financial abilities to do so. However, for the purposes of this forum, there is still the 'hide' button.
