I jumped to a conclusion and am happy to retract my statement that Rawson is a fictional character posing as a Quaker. How I made the mistake: Rawson had said he lives in Whittier, California, and is occupied with the life of John Greenleaf Whittier.
Rawson also said,"My religion is the only one that never found slavery acceptable, and I am very proud of that. I am very proud that we opposed the Vietnam War before it ever started. We even opposed the French reinvasion of Vietnam."
I do not know what religion that Rawson is claiming.
I believed, for some reason, that Quakers never found slavery acceptable. I think there were members of many religions who never found slavery acceptable.
We do know that Rawson admits to a lack of training in science.
At http://www.astronomy.net/forums/god/messages/30707.shtml, Rawson wrote: None of that makes any sense to me. Perhaps it is my lack of training in science.
