Chess is nonlocal in a sense that for the next move we must consider what happens next and not only the present spatial relations, though Chess is very restricted process. That thermodynamic properties depend on topology is by itself not enough to indicate any quantum consciousness. So far I found only one thing what maybe may indicate quantum consciousness and these are pilot waves, they may also be involved to determine the spin in Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen experiments http://tkorrovi.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=physics&action=display&num=1069725521 But the result of physicists talking about consciousness is that people who are not physicists must think about physics.
