You are going overboard. If a telemarketer calls your house, do you feel like you are banishing them if you didn't hear everything they had to say? If you are sent a spam e-mail, is it an ancient social banishment if you do not read the e-mail but instead delete it? Obviously as modern folks we only have so much time to deal with clutter, and cutting down on clutter is a good idea since it can make for greater productivity, or in this case, easier enjoyment. No anthropological issue, just trying to make my forum experience a more pleasant one.
