Mike Pearson criticizes the Vedas for not indicating what the mechanisms of evolution are.
So I looked up evolution in various dictionaries expecting to find that the Theory of Evolution differs from the definition of evolution.

Alas, in all dictionaries the theory of evolution as a gradual change from specie to specie is also the definition of evolution. But I guess that is what it means to evolve.

Nonetheless, in the western world up to about 200 years ago the world did not evolve. Instead it was created by god some 6,000 years ago. Whereas in the east for thousnads of years the world was thought to be billions of years old, and that fish apeared before mamals, which appeared before man. So eastern religious thought for 1000s of years has been consistent with modern science.

Mike prefers to quibble with the definition of evolution, and he turns out to be right. The definition includes the notion of gradual change and as far as I know that is not in the Vedas.

However, as usual it is just a quibble. Mike will use any means to criticize a post.

By the way, I consider it an honor to be mentioned in so many of Mike's posts to other posters. He accords no other poster on this forum such an honor. That says to me that I have gotten under Mike's skin more than any other --no, that means that I am the only poster to get under Mike's skin for no other poster has been accorded such an honor.

I take great pleasure in these honors. Call it the Mike Pearson Award, to be mentioned in a post to another.

If I have overlooked any poster who has received the Mike Pearson Award, I apologize.

Sincerely,

Richard
