When You Are Dead You Cease To Exist

Neal,

That is what mainstream science teaches. That is not good enough for me. Although I admit it may be more realistic, which to me means being more probable based on science, than what I believe.

I believe that your consciousness survives your death. Although I also believe in reincarntion which involves a loss of memory upon rebirth which in turn is equivalent to a cessation of existence in one sense. So science says you die at death while most religions other than christianity and Islam say you die at birth.

So you apparently believe that when you die your consciousness ceases to exist; whereas I believe that when you are reborn your memories cease to exist in the new consciousness, which is most likely the death of the old consciousness.

But the important characteristics of your personality are retained. That is how identical twins get different personalities- science has a problem explaining that one, claiming that the different personalities develop in the womb. I think they are a product of the spirit or soul and they develop over many lifetimes.
