(aka) Aurino wrote:"Of course the die-hard evolutionists will turn their intuition around and say that things like love, beauty, happiness, are just games played on us by our genes so that we find motivation to survive."

Not so. But Aurino also calls DNA "raw material." I would love to see the definition of "raw" which fits DNA in context with that discussion of higher values.
As a convinced evolutionist, one can examine the natural forces which, * despite earnest attempts to foster love, beauty and truth, can corrupt a church, country, or even an oppressed people (certainly their oppressors can be considered corrupt).
As a denier of evolution, you must resort to superstition to explain the corruption.
We have within us various drives and we notice
natural tactics which might give us advantage
at the expense of others.
As technically proficient evolutionist,
you would be able to stop being oppressive and dishonest and begin to help build a community
of persons who wish for a better life and who
have more than superstition to build upon.

Jesus' story of the woman who gave her last two coins for alms is what comes to mind. How much do the owners of the temples of superstition give to make a truly sustainable better world from the heap of treasures which were made by extracting wealth at the expense of others.
Often, nothing. They are still making the world worse.

It is illogical to provide the other side with a point of view which is different than has already been written numerous times on this forum. But being a Fat Brown Guy, Aurino apparently feels his membership in a majority should let him be an unfair obtuse bully.
