First of all, you have narrowed Salvation in the Old Testament down to only one description.
Salvation was revealed in various ways at various points along the way to completing the Old Testament.

Secondly, I think what you mean is that protection was understood to be Salvation by CERTAIN Jews at a CERTAIN time, right ?

Do you thing Ecclesiates 12:7 was understood by even one Jew ?

I know I'm way behind and may NEVER catch up.

( I do need to get to your "love yourself" command if I can. ) Where was that in the Book ?
