The gap theory believes that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... (millions or billions of years pass)... and the earth became formless and void and over the next six days God fixes things. A non-gap theory would be that in the beginning the universe was in a state of chaos and that God stores order to this chaotic state of matter by separating the heavens from the earth and causing the earth to yield life. |
