I have the flu right now in all its glorious symptons. That is reality.

"She is now consumed with all that is healthy wealthy and holy" betrays a much deeper sickness that is equally real.

Jesus said he likes men who are either hot or cold, but lukewarm he spits out of his mouth. That tells me that an atheist has as much chance for salvation as a believer. Perhaps more, for as you say in so many words, the actions of an atheist are not done to attain salvation. They are done for the pure goodness of them, presuming the actions are indeed good.

Bad actions will not get you anywhere, even in this life. Even actions only for the attainment of money are not bad if they produce good. But then we know what Jesus said about the wealthy and the camel.

Power corrupts and money corrupts and the corrupted must be born again to achieve salvation. This may sound like Christian fundamentalism. But what I say I say literally. The corrupted must live another life to get another chance at salvation. They have already lost it for this life.
