so for what reason do you not agree with either.

i find the statement:"In The Day The Universe Changed James Burke argues that knowledge is a man-made artifact, and that when man's views of reality are changed by knowledge, reality itself changes." a bit hard to accept, unless we consider the affect knowledge has on our behavior that in turn brings about change in the universe through our actions.

the idea of different phases of knowledge with respect to the question of the validity of such knowledge is i think a more interesting area of enquiry.
