On consideration:
Quoting: "Of course when you try to define 'person' or 'he' you need to identify what you mean with a particular body. That makes each one of 'us' different and recognizing that difference is vital in order to function."
Difference is vital for Existence: if "A" were the same in every way as "B" it would even be called "B" and you could only see "B"....
But note: if you do not share some common ground with "B" how can you tell "B" apart from the different background if there was different backgrounds perceived?
On sharing some background, "B" becomes clearer (as is not muddled with a different background)
In "sharing itself" we can see "background itself" and "difference itself"......
Quote: "But if you try to pin down the essence of being and ask something like, yes I see the body, but what exactly is doing the thinking that seems to be being done by that body, I think the answer is the same for all bodies."
I think the thinker is DIFFERENT for all bodies; but we are children of one Heavenly Father...
Quote: "In my view, there is only one thinker. It is what you call an ocean of consciousness."
I disagree here. From recall of "telepathic communication" I would say I thought my thoughts and my brother thought his thoughts; but there was a transparency (a harmony) which allowed access to each others' thoughts.

Alan
