The EPR trio thought up an experiment that would prove relativity to be correct and quantum mechanics to be wrong and published it in that paper.

The experiment was finally done many times, first time by the frenchman, Alan Aspect, and it proved that relativity was wrong in the sense that somethings can travel faster than the speed of light, and that quantum mechanics is correct.
