You are right. One thing, though, is that I work at that last part. If I were to list all of my friends and then try to think of some negative or disagreeable aspect of their personality or person, I'm sure that there would be at least a couple entries beside each name. I consciously try to avoid paying any attention to those things if I can and instead try to focus on their good qualities. Since each name made my list in the first place, those positives always far outweigh the negatives. So, I not only don't seem to mind, I really don't mind at all.
