I could have said the new Einstein. But that's been used too often.

Anyway it seems that Martin has truly developed a TOE, at least one that predicts the big bang and can map the universe right through the classical singularity. See my post in the Big Bang forum for his most recent reference.

He did his initial (is nascent the right word) with Smolin while at Penn State, but has now moved on to the Max Planck Institute. It only seems proper that a correct theory of Planck scale phenomonon should be done by someone at the Planck Inst.
