Now that seems realistic to me.
Scientific technology is not used specifically for good and we all know this. As mentioned above thousands upon thousands of mass extinction weaponry is unaccounted for and not just in the former USSR.
The western nations hide their most up to date weaponry and most certainly do not report the true numbers of mass extinction they possess. They are just as guilty as the former USSR in the art of deception. Sorry, but their is no innocent nations.

Yes knowledge of science has helped extend lives and has the potential to do much more to lessen the affect of the greed of man, but the knowledge of science even when used for good is just a band-aid.

Man seems bent on having more, conquering all, making things easier for himself and this has destroyed much more of this planet and the creatures that live upon it, than it has saved.

Only if man collectivly decides to give thanks for the blessing of life, and live his life as that blessing, will the benifits of scientific knowldege do good for man.
