The burden of proof is on those making the assertion of accuracy. There is plenty of evidence that all understanding is not contained in any religious writing. For me to believe
a work of writing is inerrant, I would tend also believe its author is all-knowing. If I have evidence to the contrary, we have no reason to assume that words carry more weight than objects.
The objects missing in the Torah and in the other middle eastern religious books (and all others) are the objects of the universe which science gradually describes.
I do not reject religious works. I simply do not assume they are inerrant until proven so.
