I guess that all depends on your impartiality to the evidence. I once was in the position to look at the two sides objectively. If anything, I was inclined to the biblical fundamentalist position since I wanted to believe it. But, after carefully reviewing the science I clearly saw that evolutionary science was the science and creationism and even intelligent design was obviously the pseudo-science. It took some time after that before I could understand God a little better to how evolution could possibly be his will, but honest acceptance of scientific truth is the first key. I did take an ID position for awhile (before it was written about, I suppose), but eventually rejected this position too for a variety of reasons.

If you can't accept truth in one area of your life - even because it supposedly contradicts your religious beliefs, then any spiritual dedication to truth is mocked. I think that is as plain as day.
