Hi Robert,
Your point is humorous and well-taken,
and still you too probably have some
stories to tell of heroism in "service."
In the postal service, the letter carriers
deserve some respect.
They work their fingers to the bone in the office for half the shift sorting one letter every three seconds and keep a pretty good record of accuracy and attendance
although cooped up together in little
cubicles which make it almost a sweat shop.
You can't get retirement benefits unless you
work there 30 years. If the weather is terrible,
(short of catastrophic),
the boss can't say, just take the day off.
