For example, Wheeler is apparently the originator of most ideas at Princeton. Feymann just developed Wheeler's ideas. My belief is that science is carried out by the brilliant grunts- I am not even one of them- but the ideas all come from a few exceptional people. These same few people may in turn get their ideas from god via intuition. At Harvard an exceptional mathematician was one who already knew the math inherently- he or she just had to learn the jargon in order to express what they already knew.
