What Guth and Linde said was probably stated
numerous times by folks without portfolios
in astronomy. This does not detract from their
accomplishment -- most credentialed folks probably have heard whispers of their best ideas trickling up from folks considered too uncredentialed to heed. Imagine Yanniru telling me I'm "outclassed on this forum." A PhD. himself, he was amazingly often wrong on the facts, even about things which had been repeated several times and addressed to himself.
