I don't think I have anything of much depth to offer you. All I know is that there was a time when I could learn things very fast compared to what it takes me these days. But I'm not sure that is a good thing. When you think of what makes a child lose his or her innocence, I can't help make the association between 'learning' and 'becoming corrupt'. Learning to compromise seems to be the most important survival skill. Which might explain why some people believe children go straight to heaven if they die young enough.
