Buddha: A rich man discovers austerity and proceeds, with help from the elite of his time, to establish a legacy of teaching to the masses...with his family name prominently remembered....his teaching is that this world is
not as important as we might think.
Jesus: A man whose background variously is described as poor or well-connected, who somehow
fulfills a mystical prophecy in the opinion of
many contemporaries, and whose teaching is sometimes paradoxical but both wealth and austerity. He teaches that this world is an opportunity to love.
