In short, Harv is saying that "we are primitive folks not too far removed from the trees", but we should try and visit a planet 94 light-years away nonetheless. I guess it makes sense that the first astronaut was a monkey after all!

We are primitive compared to where we could be in a few hundred or a few thousand years. What is BS about that?
