One is reffering to accelerating a spacecraft up to and exceeding light (Aurino), which he correctly stated is impossible. Mass goes to infinite as v -> c, requiring an infinite impulse to reach c (clearly absurd). There's also a bunch of other absurdities and contradictions, but that one in itself is enough to throw the whole idea out the window.

The other (Harv) is also correct in that there is a serious scientific inquiry into whether other means (stable wormholes, quantum teleportation, connecting points "A" & "B" through some sort of gravitational manipulation of spacetime (basically another way of saying 'wormhole') and then "jumping the gap" (now a small gap rather than light years), etc.).

Both of you are miscommunicating in which case you will debate until you turn blue; and you're both correct.

...Happens all the time when two people KNOW they're correct, and won't budge.

Aurino: Orthodox Physics

Harv: Exotic Alternative Means

Aurino: Einstein, Minkowski...

Harv: Hawking, Wheeler...
