When I was a kid there were all sorts of ideas about how the future would look like: flying cars, housekeeping robots, magical learning pills, there seemed to be no limit for human ingenuity. Now that I'm a middle-aged man, I still have to drive a clumsy, 3,000-pound, four-wheeled vehicle, still have to spend hours every week doing boring housekeeping chores, and still spending countless hours learning how to resolve a dominant-seventh chord. Where are the hovers, the robots, the pills?

I learned one thing though. It's not our ingenuity that has no limits, it's our willingness to dream of the impossible. So dream on, it makes no difference anyway.
