No he really is considered a "Prophet". He's not a "let's talk to your dead aunt now" prophet. The organization he's under is EXACTLY the same as the one in Christ's time. There are twelve apostles under him (who are also considered "prophets") and there is a first presidency (y'know, like Peter, James, and John?) so he's not one of "those" prophets. Just a helpful pointer outer from the peanut galaxy. (Or maybe it's the Far Side galaxy - I'm not sure which one I'm better suited for).
