I can understand what you are saying about the patient knows he's not ill and the doctor is misdiagnosing the patient, but evolutionary biology if taught even halfway correct is not saying that life is meaningless, it is only saying that random events had a huge effect on our evolutionary journey.

How can what the ordinary man on the street contradict this scientific explanation when the ordinary man experiences apparently random events throughout their lives?
