It's refreshing to read a post concerning God and Science again.

Truth is, I have never found a remotely satisfactory answer to our absolute origin, and I still cannot imagine what such an answer might be.

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you check out Chris Langan's ideas at http://ctmu.org/

He claims to have developed an answer to our absolute origin and a comprehensive theory of everything that has happened since. As long as you are still searching, you should at least have a look at it.
