An Example Of Subconscious Filtering

I see a person standing at a great distance. Of course I do not know it is a person at the time.

My subconscious filters the distant image with cylinderical symmetry and the person appears to be a point.

I get closer to the person and see that the image is elongated. My subconscious then filters it into a mirror symmetric object.

When I get close enough to the person, I see that the image has no symmetry at all.

Those are examples of what your subconsciouis does to the images you see. It can never see spherical symmetry. It sees scale invariance only when the symmetry seen remains constant. When the perceived symmetry goes from cylindrical to mirror symmetry, the scale invariance is broken.

So contrary to what Dick claims, your subconscious does not see the same symmetries all the time, yet he treats the data as if it has shift, cylindrical and scale symmetry all the time.

Can you explain how this can be a theory of the subconscious?
