Alan has not dismissed psychiatry at all. He is a knowledgable critic. Perhaps you do not like
his analysis...and I do not agree with him about
everything. Yes or no? In exact answer to your demand for a simple answer: of course it can be healthy in rare instances to "dismiss psychiatry completely." I do not know enough
about Alan to apply my own educated guess about how it would apply to him. My guess is that either you also do not know enough, or you are not being "upfront" as you called it.
