Consciousness: Philosophy Or Science Or Neither?

From what I've heard, this philosophical/scientific topic has run into somewhat of a snag. It has moved into the topic of supervenience, psychophysical laws, problems of language, etc. In other words, the topics introduced moved into such complex philosophical relations and so many unsolvable problems that some philosophers and scientists are starting to work on more solvable problems. Of course, the topic rages on, but not with as much optimism. Aurino's view is becoming increasingly popular among many, I think.
