| Beyond Flesh?

If we evolved beyond flesh why would we need photosynthesis which breaks down CO2 into carbon and oxygen, the carbon used to grow the limited needs of plants (which the animal kingdom consumes to produce the flesh you are talking about evolving away from), the oxygen released to make a sustainable atmosphere for the animals (which includes us evolved apes)?
