Even if the "Coalition to Liberate Iraq"
were to stop bombing and immediately withdraw,
the command and control of the current Iraqi government is strongly damaged already.
American corporations are reportedly lining up
to rebuild Iraq. The Pentagon estimates the
U.S. will pay two million Iraqi civil servants
for a few years during rebuilding.
As the bombs continue to fall, the truth
and proportionality of all non-war matters concerning Iraq seem to fall by the wayside as well.
We need some high level thinking on the ethical
quandary that we are sliding into.
I do not think the unintended consequences will
be managed well at all based upon CURRENT thinking I have heard discussed.
