Who mentioned or used an "equal sign"?

I'll make it simple for you, as you are obviously a creature of limited intellectual gifts: It's called a dic·tion·ar·y. You can find them in all libraries, as well as most quality bookstores. You might even find one propping up the short leg of your dining room table...

To make equal or equivalent.
