My post in the above thread seems to answer the questions that come from these quotes of the quran.

In short you are correct that the Muslims, especially the Arabs, did not follow the quran. In the quotes above it says explicitly several times that Muslims cannot wage war unless in self-defense.

Is that correct or is there an out that allows Islam to attack other peoples in order to convert them to Islam? If there is such a loophole, then the quran condones aggression. If not then Islam just ignored the quran when it took control of most of the world.

For example, suppose a muslim family moved to a hindu land and were oppressed there. Does that give Islam the right to conquer tha hindu land?

If so, then the quran condones aggression.
