Rather than using an argument that the simplest explanation is correct, I would use the argument that any theistic being would obtain creation with the least expenditure of energy. Evolution follows from that principle. Intelligence is still important. But the system does not have to be micro-managed.

With the simplest argument approach, that an intelligent being just created everything by design, an extreme amount of micro-management is required.

In electronic design, according to a recent Scientific American article, genetic programming, which is really the evolution of design from basic components over a hundred or so generations obtains all the inventions previously obtained by intelligent design, at a minimum expenditure of energy and creativity on the part of the designer.

Read that article and see if you are convinced.
