It is our moment of troubled times
For people around the world
From terror threats, to irreconcilable differences
Our flags have become unfurled.

We’ve gone beyond the physical pain
Of disease and famine spread
We’ve mustered up, our guns of hate
Where our attitudes have bled

If let go, the fuse will burn
And destruction will give way
To life of man, our precious gift
What more do I have to say

To regain peace, and steadfast values
Are needed for us to live
So we can achieve mortality
And share the love that we have to give

All it takes is a simple shake
Of our hand unto another
A welcome gesture, from the heart
To our fellow sister and brother

A peaceful world can be had
By removal of circumstance
And take the time to understand ourselves
If we just give it half a chance
