Does it matter if you kill yourself today? You're just going to die anyway; in the face of eternity, does it make a difference? Does it matter if we cure cancer? People will still get sick and die, and we will never cure all diseases anyway, so why bother? Does it matter if we try to explain the origins of the universe through science or religion? We'll never have all the answers anyway, so what does an answer here and there prove?

Nothing. But it's the journey, not the destination.
