Robert,
I am now reading 91 pages of abstracts of papers to be given at the Quantum Mind 2003 conference in Arizona in March of this year. I am giving one on Dark Matter as a likely medium for consciousness.
In these abstracts are reports of many paranormal experiments and theories for how that kind of phenomena can exist.
The most striking of all are two abstracts on surveys of Near Death Experiences(NDE). That is, two reports covering hundreds of cases of cardiac arrest where the patient was legally dead, the heart had stopped, but the patient regained consciousness.
In 18% of these cases, the patient reported an NDE where the patient was out-of-body (OBE) and able to have many experiences. The most common experiences were to observe the doctors working on his/her body from above and to get a life review.
But some patients reported having communicated with deceased loved ones and to see into the future as well as the past. No report of seeing God though. In each case the fear of death was lost.
So this is the strongest evidence I know of that an after life exists. It could be pure hallucination, or it could be extended existence. After all 99% of the universe that we are able to sample is invisible to us. It seems that consciousness should not be restricted to a minute fraction of the 1% we can see.
