It suggests a physics model for NDEs, OBEs, reincarnation and of course ghosts.

The concept of the soul seems to have been invented by the ancient Greek philosophers and adopted by Christianity. The Jews believed in resurrection of the body rather than a soul going to heaven. Their is no afterlife for mainstream Judaism. Resurrection is still mentioned in the Apostles' and Nicene Creed. But Christians do not seem to pay much attention to it.

The Buddha seems to have invented the concept of reincarnation, but ironically did not think a soul existed, from his exploration of the psyche, nor did he think a God as we define it existed, just Nirvana which is next to nothing.
